lfar: I can’t express why, but the word “taken” in this context really makes me want to pick a fight. Shouldn’t the opposite of “single” be “together”? That’s fair. I don’t really like the term either, but I didn’t give it much thought. Assuming it was supposed to be the opposite of “single” especially. Lots of people do say they are “available” however. “Together” could also be the opposite of “Apart” which would have all sorts of weird connotations. I think that boiling any sort of relationship or lack thereof down into one word is tricky at best.
